Philippians 2

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
Still to this day I'm still trying to get the consumer Christianity mentality out of my thinking. If we truly love others then our entitlements or rights would feel trivial as we understand that the eternal fate of unbelievers are more important than our comforts. Jesus gave up his rights, and as imitators of him, we are to do the same.

13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
I've become discouraged lately, my theological knowledge is growing but my mental health is deteriorating. As I reflect on "to will and to act" I feel like my motivations for lifegroup attendance and Bible studying has become superficial again, a spiritual low has started. I'm spending so much money for this years mission trip so God can work in me however i've started to doubt whether God spirit lives in me or if it has even taken effect yet.
