Hosea 9

Those who called Israel to repentance and announced judgement who considered insane. Israel felt no urgency or even a need to reform since they saw their plentiful harvests as blessings from God. Israel pursued idols like Baal and Ashtoreth because they were believed to be fertility Gods, God is the true provider of a good harvest and so will turn their prosperity into barreness. 

Not much to take from this chapter other than God is pronouncing judgement on Israel. Israel mistook their prosperity as blessing which maybe was imitated in a lowkey prosperity gospel attitude??? I should continue chasing God in times of prosperity and depression.
