Acts 5

(3) Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?"
God wants his children to imitate him however dishonesty, greed and covetousness prevents church growth. It's helpful if we open up to fellow christian brothers and sisters before our sin starts affecting our decisions especially if it's severe as this.

(11) Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.
God hates sin. He always has and always will. Unfortunately many churchgoers undervalue God's holiness and find ways to justify their sin. It's important to become aware of our undeserving nature and submit to God, God helping us to hate sin.

(41) The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
It is natural for humans to crave a comfortable lifestyle however we should be grateful that God considers us worthy to suffer for him.
Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" - Mathew 16:24
