Acts 11
(8) I replied, 'Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure of unclean has ever entered my mouth.'
More often than necessary, many who claim themselves as Christians are inclined to accept only sections of God's word that appeals to our personal agendas while neglecting teaching that might be offensive.
(18) When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life."
The Jewish church had set God as their highest authority so when they discovered the Holy Spirit being given to the gentiles, they had stepped their prejudices aside and submitted to God's will. Although this would remain and issue for some members, we can trust that the gospel can change us drastically.
