Bad theology breeds reactionary bad theology. Catholics have added titles and myths that are either contrary to or absent in scripture. The view that Mary was immaculately conceived (born sinless) and that she, like Enoch was transported to heavenly bodies therefore escaping death is unsupported. Despite all the theological disagreements one thing is clear, Mary is wholly admirable, a model for many virtues. She accepts her astonishing role with submission and equanimity despite living in what was still a very conservative time in western civilisation.
