Hosea 13

v6 "they were filled and their heart was exalted; therefore they forgot Me" we often forget/ignore God in times of prosperity. we times are bed we more likely to turn back to God. God will destroy His people but still help them. Hosea writes a majority of the chapter prophesying judgement but the final verses indicate that after severe discipline God will bring them out of their hopelessness.

  1. If I may add, I can see that through Hosea, God cares so much for his children to acknowledge and remember their father and Creator. It's so true we forget. I don't know about you but I forget MOSTLY in times of suffering, frustration or anxiety.

Even in the stressful times of friends, family & exams.

I think Hosea as a whole book stresses the Father's heart for His children.

For me, now that we, under the new covenant of Jesus, are literally called "co-heirs" with Christ (Romans 8:17) I think i'm MOST comforted knowing that we are legit counted as PART of God's saved family of believers - because of Jesus.

Hosea reminds me that even though we forget our creator, because of Jesus... God loves me. regardless.

It's not "God loves me because I remembered Him today good enough and lived for him good enough" unlike Israelites being judged in Hosea's time, but rather... "He loves me and that's why He saved me..."

It fills me with absolute freedom cos I know I suck but absolute gratitude cos now I GET to partner with him in this life of mission...
