Acts 9

(15-16) But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
Consumer Christianity teaches that God will give you relief in life. Jesus tells you to pick up your cross and follow him. Ananias was well aware of Paul's profession and was fearful of what would happen to him and his fellow believers, however he acknowledged God as his highest authority and obeyed regardless.

(21) All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among hose who call on this name? And hasn't he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?"
For me personally, I feel as is God's glory is exalted when we see someone turn their life around for Jesus when we thought it was impossible for them. From ex-gangsters to former playboys, they are possibly the greatest example of God's worth, leaving their materialistic possessions for submit to Christ.
