Acts 19
(6) When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied
(27) There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”
Many of the pagan practices in Ephasus was to indulge in sexual activities and satisfying desires that were popular to the society. Pauls increasingly growing ministry disapproved of these habits and therefore threatened the financial security of those who profited of this lifestyle.
(p.s i have really no idea what to write for this chapter because i'm not that familiar with the subject of speaking in tongues and whether it can be justifiable in our present age). maybe this is something we can talk about on friday )
